Sport Clutch Kit

The Supermiata Sport Clutch is a USA-designed and assembled clutch kit for the 1990-1993 Mazda Miata with the 1.6L B6 engine. Developed over two years of racing and street use, this clutch aims to provide a balance of increased torque capacity and light pedal effort. It features a nodular iron pressure ring, a ball bearing fulcrum for reduced effort, and a heat-treated diaphragm spring. The one-piece drive plate, double-wide straps on the pressure plate, and shot-peened and hardened 4140 steel hubs contribute to its durability. The organic disc version has a torque capacity of 220 ft-lbs and offers smooth modulation akin to OEM clutches, while the puck (ceramic/metallic) version provides a higher torque capacity of 270 ft-lbs, with a slight compromise in modulation smoothness. The pedal effort is rated in the 35 lbs range, significantly lighter than some high-performance clutches and still manageable for quick shifts. Components are manufactured in the USA and Japan, with rigorous testing for clamp load on each batch. The kit includes the clutch cover/pressure plate, clutch disc, an Exedy pilot bearing, an Exedy release bearing, and an alignment tool. Optional add-ons include a hydraulic overhaul kit and Liquimoly Dot 4 fluid. The clutch is backed by a limited lifetime warranty against breakage.
