Overview

The DC Sports CAI5013 is a cold air intake system designed for the 1996-2000 Honda Civic DX, LX, CX, and HX models with the 1.6L engine. It replaces the factory air box and ducting to allow the D16 engine to breathe more freely, resulting in improved performance and sound.

The system features a reusable oiled cone air filter and is constructed from 6061-T6 lightweight aluminum tubing with a hard-anodized gunmetal finish. It includes multi-ply silicone couplers, stainless steel clamps, and brackets for installation.

If your 1996-2000 Honda Civic with a 1.6L D16 engine is still equipped with a stock air box, it is likely leaving potential power on the table. The DC Sports Cold Air Intake System (CAI5013) is engineered to address this by relocating the air filter into the fender well and replacing restrictive factory ducting. This allows your engine to ingest colder, denser air, leading to improved performance, a more aggressive induction sound, and sharper throttle response. The intake tubing is constructed from 6061-T6 lightweight aluminum, featuring a mandrel-bent design to maintain consistent diameter and flow throughout the intake tract. This design aims to deliver noticeable horsepower and torque gains across the entire rev range. The system includes a reusable oiled cone air filter that is capable of capturing fine dust particles down to 5 microns and can be cleaned and re-oiled for continued use. The hard-anodized gunmetal finish on the tubing provides resistance to corrosion and road grime. This DC Sports cold air intake is 50 State C.A.R.B. Compliant (EO# D-370-15), ensuring that it meets emissions standards for California and other states that require emissions testing, allowing you to maintain enhanced performance while remaining street and smog legal.
