The Dodson Motorsports Sportsman Clutch Kit (DMS-8073) is engineered for extreme torque and high-RPM abuse, making it a robust upgrade for C8 Corvette owners running serious power. This kit is the preferred choice for Lingenfelter's in-house 427ci LT2 twin-turbo builds and Stage 3 supercharged systems, offering significantly more capacity than the factory clutch or the Dodson Superstock kit. Key technical specifications include an increased clutch plate count with an 8/9 configuration (8 plates on the odd clutch pack, 9 on the even), which adds extra friction and steel components for enhanced torque capacity, heat dissipation, and durability under load. The clutch utilizes upgraded proprietary friction materials for superior holding power and longevity, making it suitable for track days, aggressive street driving, or drag-strip launches. Its components, including pressure plates and hubs, are CNC machined from billet for precise tolerances and consistent engagement. Post-installation, it's crucial to refill with OEM-spec DCT transmission fluid, perform a full clutch bleed, and execute a calibration via GM GDS2 software or equivalent.
