In wet conditions, Vac-U-Slots help push water off the braking surface for better stopping power. For most late model truck and SUV applications and select sports cars, Power Alloy metallurgy and directional cooling vanes are used to improve high-temperature performance. PowerSlot rotors are finished in a durable black e-coat on the hat, edges, and internal vanes to prevent corrosion. The braking surfaces are left in a bare iron finish to improve brake pad bed-in. Cryogenic treatment is a one-time process that permanently improves the performance and service life of metals. The metal is cooled gradually to -300°F, slowly returned to room temperature, and heat-cycled. This process redistributes residual stress in the rotor, providing extra protection against warping.
