The Gwatney Performance SS3 VVT Camshaft is a popular choice for hardcore street/strip enthusiasts seeking enhanced performance from their Gen III/Gen IV LS naturally aspirated engines. This hydraulic roller camshaft delivers significant increases in torque and horsepower compared to the SS1 and SS2 VVT models, maintaining strong power output up to 6900 RPM. This camshaft is specifically designed for the L99 VVT engine and features a single bolt cam bolt style. While it offers excellent low-end torque and a stable idle with a smooth lobe design for quiet valve train operation and longevity, it requires specific supporting modifications for optimal performance. These include a 3600+ RPM torque converter and 3.91 rear axle gearing.
