Stage-1 Carbon Fiber Intake

The SPE Motorsport 2020-2022 GT500 Stage-1 Carbon Fiber Intake is engineered to address the airflow restrictions in the Ford Mustang GT500, particularly for modified vehicles. Its main inlet tube is constructed from genuine 3K twill carbon fiber, manufactured using billet molds and autoclaved for a strong, lightweight component. The design features a 4.5-inch opening at the throttle body, expanding to a 6-inch opening for the filter, optimizing air delivery across all vehicle speeds. The system includes a massive 6 x 11-inch oiled cone filter, providing substantial surface area. The filter box/shield design was developed through extensive testing to balance maximum inlet flow from the front of the car with effective heat deflection, avoiding the static air issues of closed boxes and radiant heat from open shields. The textured powder-coated box is mounted using a Delrin isolator and an adjustable billet clamp for a precise fit. Key features include no tuning changes required for stock applications, with expected gains of 28-35 RWHP. CAD design and CFD testing ensure optimized performance. The kit includes the aluminum powder-coated box, 3K carbon fiber intake tube, billet mounting clamp, Delrin isolator, reinforced silicone throttle body coupler, cone filter, and all necessary hardware including factory connection fittings and coolant hose routing hardware.
