Stage 1+ ECU Upgrade

The Unitronic Stage 1+ ECU upgrade is performance software engineered to enhance your Volkswagen Tiguan MK2 2.0L TSI MQB Gen3-B. The software aims to provide a broad powerband with smooth power delivery, maximizing responsiveness and the "area under the curve" for improved acceleration during both normal and hard acceleration. This performance software precisely calibrates ignition timing for higher octane fuel (93 Octane / 98 Ron), extracting maximum energy from combustion for increased power and potential fuel efficiency gains. Unitronic's ECU calibrators deliver maximum power output while ensuring operation stays within the limits of factory engine and drivetrain components, thus maintaining reliability. Factory safety limiters are retained, and all operational parameters are closely monitored to keep the engine within OEM component limits. The power delivery is optimized throughout the power band, providing a smooth and linear power band with a broader torque plateau that is achieved sooner and maintained longer, resulting in improved acceleration. The Stage 1+ tune removes the vehicle speed limiter (subject to transmission rotational speed limits) and is engineered for improved fuel efficiency under normalized driving conditions due to optimized timing and injection in cruising conditions. Unitronic leverages over 10 years of experience with Bosch and Siemens engine management systems to ensure an optimal calibration. Development includes in-house Maha Chassis dyno testing and extensive real-world testing under various driving conditions to guarantee maximum performance, OEM-like drivability, and reliability. This tune offers a significant power increase, boosting output to 249HP and 304 LB-FT from the stock 184HP and 221 LB-FT, representing a gain of +65 HP and +83 LB-FT. The system is compatible with Unitronic’s UniCONNECT+ cable, allowing for self-installation at home, including flashing back to stock and reading/clearing DTCs. Recommended hardware to complement this tune includes a Carbon Fiber Intake System with Air Duct and an MQB Turbo Inlet Elbow. Related hardware options such as a Charge Pipe Upgrade Kit and an Intercooler are also available.
