The Black Forest Industries Stage 1 Torque Arm Insert is a polyurethane component designed to enhance the performance of MQB platform vehicles. It addresses the limitations of factory bushings, which can flex under hard acceleration, leading to a vague engine and gearbox feel and contributing to wheel hop. By filling the voids in the stock rubber bushing, this insert effectively transforms it into a solid mount. Installation of this torque arm insert is expected to result in improved throttle response and crisper, more defined gear shifts, particularly for manual transmission vehicles. The insert is crafted from polyurethane and includes a laser-cut washer, a steel spacer, and a high-strength grade 10.9 replacement bolt for installation. This Stage 1 variant is specifically engineered to offer the best compromise between daily comfort and optimized performance, making it the recommended choice for most customers. It is important to note that some in-cabin vibrations may be experienced after installation, most notably in reverse and when the air conditioning is engaged at idle. These vibrations are considered normal and are expected to subside after approximately 1,000 miles of driving. TDI models may experience increased NVH compared to gasoline vehicles due to the inherent design of the diesel engine. Before purchasing, users are advised to verify their vehicle's mount type (1 or 2) as VAG has utilized both without strict adherence to year, model, or trim.
