The Exedy 15801 Stage 1 clutch kit is engineered for performance enthusiasts seeking enhanced torque handling capabilities. This kit is specifically designed to provide a significant upgrade over stock clutch systems, offering a 20% increase in engine torque capacity thanks to its high clamp load pressure plate. The pressure plate is constructed from ductile material for high burst strength across all temperature ranges and provides approximately 40% higher clamping force than genuine parts. The clutch disc utilizes a newly developed, asbestos-free woven organic friction facing. This material offers excellent heat resistance and high burst strength, crucial for motorsports and performance driving. The absence of a steel back on the disc helps prevent high RPM "lock-out" and potential synchro damage. This is a comprehensive, direct OE replacement kit, meaning it installs without requiring any modifications to the vehicle. It includes all necessary components for a full clutch replacement: the clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, and an alignment tool. The kit is rated for an engine torque capacity of 245 lb-ft and 280HP, and its disc measures 8-7/8" x 24T x 31/32".
