Stage 1 Simple Turbo Kit

The WORKS Stage 1 "Simple" Turbo Kit is an innovative tuner kit engineered for automatic transmission Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota 86 vehicles produced between 2013 and 2021. Developed over two years, this kit focuses on simplicity while delivering significant power gains. It features custom thermal coated up-pipes and down-pipes, a finned aluminum air-to-air intercooler, and an OEM-style diverter valve, all centered around a genuine Garrett GT28 journal bearing turbo. The turbocharger is strategically mounted rearward to maintain optimal chassis balance and handling. A key benefit is its ability to retain essential OEM components, including the factory air box, exhaust manifold headers, and the secondary catalytic converter, ensuring that factory emissions components are not compromised. The short intake piping and efficient intercooler are designed to minimize pressure loss and maximize boost response, contributing to a ~7 psi peak boost with an estimated gain of ~70 hp and ~50 ft-lbs of torque on 91 octane gasoline for a stock vehicle. For optimal performance and longevity, especially for track use, WORKS highly recommends accessories such as their Oil Regulator/Cooler Kit and stiffer motor mounts. Enhanced braking performance is also advised due to the significant power increase. To fully leverage the capabilities of higher-end Garrett turbo options like the GTX series, upgrades to a larger intercooler, downpipe, and potentially a fuel pump/injectors will be necessary. The kit comes with all necessary metric hardware for an OEM-like appearance and installation.
