It features custom thermal coated up and down pipes, a finned aluminum air-to-air heat exchanger, and a Garrett GT28 journal bearing turbo. This kit retains the OEM air box, exhaust manifold headers, and secondary catalytic converter, requiring no cutting, fabrication, or internal engine modification.

The Tuner Works Stage 1 Simple Turbo Kit offers an elegant and straightforward path to turbocharged power for your FR-S, BRZ, or 86. Engineered over two years, this kit prioritizes simplicity without sacrificing performance or OEM integration. It features custom thermal-coated up and down pipes, a compact finned aluminum air-to-air heat exchanger, and a genuine Garrett GT28 journal bearing turbo. The kit's design allows it to retain critical OEM components, including the air box, exhaust manifold headers, and the front pipe with its secondary catalytic converter. This approach ensures that emissions components are not compromised and contributes to an OE-like appearance. This tuner kit produces approximately 7 psi of peak boost, yielding gains of about 70 horsepower and 50 ft-lbs of torque at the crank on 91 octane fuel for a relatively stock vehicle. While it provides a significant power increase of roughly 35%, higher octane fuel can yield greater gains. NOTE: This kit is compatible with manual transmissions ONLY. For automatic transmissions, a different kit is required. A high-flow air filter is recommended. For track use, an oil cooler and stiffer motor mounts are advised. For users opting for the GTX turbocharger options, a larger intercooler, downpipe, and/or upgraded fuel pump/injectors will be necessary to achieve their full potential.
