Stage 1 TE Aluminum Cylinder Heads

The TA Performance Stage 1 Track Eliminator (TE) series aluminum cylinder heads are engineered to provide substantial power increases for 400, 430, and 455 cubic inch engines. TA Performance has nearly 20 years of experience manufacturing cylinder heads, earning a strong reputation in the automotive aftermarket for craftsmanship and performance. The Stage 1 TE heads feature a Stage 3 raised intake runner design, which enhances flow directly to the valve, providing an average of 10-15 CFM more than standard ports. This design also pairs exceptionally well with oversized intake valves, such as the 2.250” valve used in the Stage 3 Series, further increasing flow. With porting and oversized intake valves, these heads have achieved flow rates of nearly 380 CFM at high lift and 340 CFM at .500” lift. These cylinder heads are capable of supporting pump gas combinations up to 700 HP and race combinations exceeding 800 HP, with potential for 60+ HP gains on 10:1 compression engines out of the box. The TE heads require a raised runner intake manifold from TA Performance's SP-2 series. Additionally, when installing these aluminum heads on 400 and 430 engines, pushrod oiling (using 455 lifters and pushrods) is required. If using head studs, four TA1134N 12-point nuts are needed. The heads include the original type air conditioning mounting boss. Primary applications for the Stage 1 TE heads include high-end street/strip combinations where a stock-looking head is desired, hood clearance is not a concern, and performance is paramount, especially when headers already designed for iron heads are in use. Base intake/exhaust flow is rated at 290/220 CFM @ .550” lift, with ported configurations reaching 350/260 CFM. For 400 cid engines, 2.000” intake and 1.650” exhaust valves are used due to bore size, with a 2.250” intake valve available as an option. Valve stem diameters of 3/8” or 11/32” are available.
