The BEGi 22-13200 Stage 1 turbo system is engineered for 1999-2000 1.8L Miata vehicles, offering a complete solution for adding safe and reliable power. This system is notable for being emissions legal in all 50 states with CARB EO D-601-3. This kit features a newly redesigned exhaust manifold that has undergone CFD testing, resulting in a 24% increase in flow and a weight reduction of over 2.5 lbs compared to previous designs. The manifold's staggered runner diameters help optimize exhaust pulse timing for quicker spool and potential for higher power output. Both the manifold and turbo outlet are finished with a C-7900 Glacier Titanium Cerakote, capable of withstanding up to 1,800°F, and have been proven durable through extensive testing. The included intercooler provides consistent horsepower delivery, even during hard driving. It features a durable powder coat finish with special thermal properties for efficient heat dissipation. The system utilizes a Garrett GT2560R turbocharger, chosen for its balance of low-end boost response and top-end flow without choking. Fueling is managed by the Voodoo Box, which modifies the stock injector signal under boost to deliver necessary fuel without requiring high-pressure pumps or complex fuel line installations. No engine tuning is required for this Stage 1 system. Installation considerations include the need for a new clutch, and potentially a radiator upgrade for cars used in hot climates or for track use. If your vehicle is equipped with ABS, an Aluminum Washer Bottle Relocation kit is necessary. For 1999-2000 California emission vehicles with dual catalytic converters, this kit will remove the primary cat, invalidating the EO. While technically compatible with automatic transmissions, modifications to the downpipe and the use of a specific midpipe are required, and drivability issues may arise, so this kit is not recommended for automatic vehicles.
