They offer championship stopping power and are formulated for all track use as well as performance street use. They feature whisper-quiet operation due to beveled edges and a center-line slot, which also vents heat and gas to prevent thermal cracks and fade. The pads and pad plates are powder coated for a lifetime of rust-free service and treated with EBC's unique Break-In surface coating for rapid bedding. EBC RK Series Premium OE Replacement Plain Brake Rotors are sold in pairs. These replacement brake rotors are sized and shaped to OE factory dimensions with strict quality controls and machined to extremely tight tolerances of less than 0.05 millimeters. High quality "gray" iron meets or exceeds factory original specifications regarding thermal buildup, brake noise, vibration, and wear. They feature a Black GEOMET™ and NITROTHERM™ anti-corrosive finish. EBC recommends a 500-mile break-in period with lighter braking application. These rotors are more resistant to warping or cracking due to a higher percentage of carbon and silicone, which leads to the formation of graphite during the curing process, resulting in a denser, softer material that disperses heat more evenly and reduces vibration-related noise.
