Stage 2.5 International Hybrid EJ25 Closed Deck Short Block

The IAG Performance Stage 2.5 International Hybrid EJ25 is a closed deck short block engineered to enhance the displacement and low-end torque of vehicles that originally featured the EJ20 2.0L engine. This hybrid 2.5L block is fitted with specially designed pistons that effectively lower compression, ensuring compatibility with EJ20 cylinder heads without requiring any modifications to the cylinder head chambers. Construction begins with brand new Subaru 2.5L engine case halves, which are meticulously machined in-house on a Haas VF-4SS CNC mill to accommodate IAG's Closed Deck Inserts, transforming the block into a solid deck design. The unique inserts incorporate small passages to maintain necessary coolant flow to the deck surface. Subsequently, the short block undergoes Deck Plate boring and honing to 99.75mm using a Sunnen SV-30, a state-of-the-art automotive cylinder hone. IAG's in-house honing process enables the precise setting of custom piston-to-wall clearances tailored to specific performance needs, ensuring quiet operation and reduced oil consumption. The assembly process includes a new 2017+ Subaru 2.5L nitride treated STI crankshaft, paired with ACL or King race main bearings. IAG-Spec Tuff H-Beam connecting rods and ARP rod bolts are utilized, along with ACL or King race rod bearings. The case halves are sealed using new OEM main/case bolts and sealant. The build is completed with IAG-Spec 99.75mm JE FSR 2618 Forged Pistons and .210" Steel Wrist Pins. This short block is rated for 750 BHP and offers increased performance capabilities and improved reliability. It is specifically designed for use with EJ20 engines and requires EJ20 cylinder heads. IAG provides a one-year/12,000-mile warranty for this product.
