This kit replaces the factory clutch with a cerametallic disc that offers significantly higher heat resistance and torque capacity than organic discs. The copper-ceramic friction compound is designed for high-friction, heat-stable performance, making it ideal for applications running increased boost, aftermarket turbochargers, or other power modifications that exceed the limits of a Stage 1 clutch. The kit includes a full-size, standard thickness cerametallic disc and a pressure plate with a higher clamp load compared to the Exedy Stage 1. This increased clamp load is essential to match the cerametallic disc's operating characteristics and provides improved holding capacity. As a result, the pedal feel will be heavier than stock or Stage 1 installations, particularly in stop-and-go traffic, which is a trade-off for the enhanced performance and durability.
