Stage 2 ECU Tune for M57 Diesel EDC17CP09

The DUDMD Tuning Stage 2 ECU tune is designed to enhance the performance of the M57 diesel engine, specifically for the Bosch EDC17CP09 ECU. This performance tuning modifies key engine parameters such as torque limiter maps, boost levels, and fuel maps. The goal is to safely increase horsepower and torque, resulting in improved acceleration and overall driving dynamics, while critically maintaining good drivability and the vehicle's factory fail-safes and limp protection. Installation of this tune can be performed via two methods: Remote Flash or Bench Flash. The Remote Flash option involves using a laptop (Windows 8 or newer required) and a DUDMD Tuning K+DCan cable to flash the ECU through the OBD2 port. This method offers convenience with minimal downtime. Alternatively, the Bench Flash method requires the DDE (Digital Diesel Electronics) control unit to be removed from the vehicle and shipped to DUDMD Tuning for direct programming. This process includes creating a full backup of the original software before applying the tune. For the Stage 1 tune on the 335D, claimed gains are 70 WHP and 114 WTQ over stock (238 WHP / 321 WTQ). Gains may vary based on vehicle conditions. This tuning module is specifically for the following vehicles: 2009-2011 BMW 335d (E90) and 2009-2013 BMW X5 xDrive35d (E70), both equipped with the M57 Diesel engine. A Windows 8 or newer laptop is required for remote flashing, and Apple/Mac/Chromebooks are not supported. DUDMD strongly recommends using their proprietary K+DCan cable for remote flashing to ensure reliability and avoid potential issues associated with generic cables.
