Stage 2 Tuff 2.5L Short Block

The IAG Performance Stage 2 Tuff 2.5L Short Block is engineered as a high-performance engine foundation for Subaru WRX, STI, Legacy GT, and Forester XT models. This professionally built unit provides a robust platform for enhanced power output while prioritizing reliability under demanding conditions. It is specifically designed for forced induction applications and serves as a direct fit replacement for EJ25 equipped Subaru models, featuring a 2.5L displacement and Stage 2 Tuff specification with upgraded internal components. Key features of this short block include brand new Subaru OEM case halves, bored and honed to 99.75mm using an in-house Sunnen SV-30 hone for tighter piston-to-wall clearances and quieter operation. It utilizes a new 2017+ Subaru 2.5L nitride-treated STI crankshaft matched with ACL or King race main bearings. IAG-Spec Tuff H-Beam rods with ARP Rod Bolts are employed for increased power handling, paired with ACL or King race rod bearings. The assembly is sealed with new OEM main case bolts and sealant, and finished with IAG-Spec JE 99.75mm Forged Pistons. Additional options are available to enhance performance and reliability, including a Subaru JDM 12mm High Volume Oil Pump, an upgraded IAG Oil Pickup designed to replace the failure-prone OEM unit with heavier gauge steel and a two-point mounting bracket, and an IAG Oil Control Baffle and Windage Tray System to prevent oil starvation during high-G maneuvers. An OEM cover and seal kit is also offered for convenience. The compression ratio is 8.5:1 when used with D Cylinder Heads (EJ255), and 8.2:1 when paired with B, V, and W EJ257 Heads using a standard thickness gasket.
