Description

The South Bend Stage 3 Drag Clutch Kit is engineered for high-performance applications, featuring an SS pressure plate paired with a 6-puck, graphite-impregnated ceramic clutch disc. This specific disc design minimizes rotational mass and the drive surface area, while increasing the pounds per square inch on the friction material. This combination results in reduced inertia, allowing for quicker transfer of torque from the engine to the wheels. The ceramic friction material was selected for its superior durability, reduced chatter, and lower heat transfer compared to other materials tested, enabling an increased torque capacity. The kit includes the pressure plate, disc, release bearing, alignment tool, and pilot bearing (for most applications). This system is rated for 700 torque. It is specifically designed to fit ALL Z31 Models with a 9-bolt pressure plate, including 1984-1989 Non-Turbo and 1984-1986 Turbo models. Recommended uses include drag racing, drifting, and limited street driving.
