The Sloppy Mechanics Stage 3 Elgin Camshaft is engineered for 1997-2013 GM Gen 3/4 LS-based engines, including 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, and 6.2L displacements. This hydraulic roller camshaft boasts an aggressive profile with a 238/242 duration, .595"/.595" lift, and a 112 LSA, operating within a 2200 to 5400 RPM range. Designed for performance enthusiasts, the Stage 3 camshaft delivers a noticeable choppy idle and substantial power increases. It is recommended for weekend warriors seeking a distinctive exhaust note and enhanced performance in cars, trucks, SUVs, street rods, and LS swap applications. For automatic transmissions, a 3200+ RPM stall converter is advised to optimize performance. This camshaft is available as a standalone unit or as part of a comprehensive kit. The kit option includes the Elgin 1841-P SS3 camshaft, a Michigan Motorsports .660" dual spring kit with lightweight titanium retainers, valve seals, and 7.400" chromoly pushrods. An optional gasket kit is also available, containing a timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, front crankshaft damper seal, and crankshaft bolt. Important installation notes apply: VVT engines will require a VVT delete kit. If your engine originally came with a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit will be necessary. Additionally, DOD/AFM engines must have the DOD delete system installed to accommodate this aftermarket camshaft.
