The Exedy Stage 3 Hyper Single Series clutch kit is engineered for moderately modified vehicles that demand more performance than stock but do not require a multi-plate clutch. It features a robust purple anodized forged aluminum cover, which is stiffer than standard stamped steel covers, providing higher lever ratios while keeping pedal effort manageable. Unlike pressed-metal covers, this design ensures no clamp load deflection, leading to consistent engagement even under high-stress conditions. The pressure plate is equipped with turbine-style airflow vanes, which enhance cooling during extreme use, thereby reducing wear and extending clutch life. Each Hyper Single clutch kit comes complete with a high-performance chromoly steel flywheel and a 6-puck cerametallic facing with a spring-centered damper disc assembly. Combined with higher clamp loads and the durable cerametallic facings, this clutch system delivers approximately twice the holding torque of OEM units, significantly outperforming most other single-disc clutches while maintaining excellent drivability.
