Stage 3 Low Lift LS Truck Camshaft

The Texas Speed TSP Stage 3 Low Lift LS Truck Camshaft is engineered to enhance performance in 1999-2013 GM Gen 3/4 LS-Based Vortec Engines, specifically those with 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, and 6.0L displacements. Featuring a 216/220 duration with .550/.550 lift on a 112 LSA, this camshaft is designed with proprietary TSP lobe profiles intended to utilize the factory GM LS6 single beehive valve springs and stock pushrods. This design approach not only makes it an affordable upgrade but also reduces stress on valvetrain components, promoting reliability for daily driven vehicles that accumulate significant mileage. The camshaft offers an operating RPM range of 1200-6400 RPM and requires a minimum compression ratio of 9.5:1. In testing on an otherwise stock 5.3L engine, this camshaft achieved gains of 53.4 horsepower and 22.0 ft-lbs of torque at the flywheel, as measured on a SuperFlow 902 engine dyno. It provides significant performance improvements across various compatible engines, including the 4.8L, 6.0L, and 6.2L, while maintaining great drivability suitable for daily use. While not strictly required, a 3000+ stall converter is recommended for maximizing performance, though the stock torque converter can still be used. Installation notes include the requirement for a DOD/AFM delete for applicable engines and a VVT delete kit for VVT engines. If your engine originally had a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit will be necessary. For 6.2L engines and 2007-later rectangle port 6.0L engines, a dual valve spring kit or PAC 1218 springs (or similar) are recommended due to their heavier valve weight.
