Stage 3 Turbo System Upgrade

The Protomotive Stage 3 turbo system is engineered to boost the performance of 930 turbos and 911 3.2 Carreras manufactured between 1984 and 1989. This comprehensive upgrade is available in several configurations, such as J tube (930 style), on-the-side (utilizing OEM heater boxes), headers, twin-turbo, and custom builds. The core of the Stage 3 system is its upgrade to a 97mm 3.3-liter displacement with a 7.0/1 compression ratio, leveraging OEM pistons and cylinders to enable higher boost pressures. This allows for increased power output on both pump and race fuels while preserving the reliability of the original engine components. An optional 98mm / 3.4L upgrade is also available. On pump fuel, the Stage 3 system delivers a performance range of 530 to 620 crank horsepower. With the addition of features like meth injection or MS109 race fuel, power output can reach the mid to high 600s. For those seeking an advanced setup, a 3.4L twin-plug / twin-turbo build, paired with Protomotive’s Pressure Sensing Motronics software, offers exceptional responsiveness and power, suitable for anything from a sleeper build to a wide-body conversion. Such a configuration can produce approximately 625hp crank on pump fuel and can be serviced using OEM diagnostics tools. Each system's results are based on testing at Protomotive and various other sources; however, performance is not guaranteed due to the condition of the original engine. The Stage 3 turbo system is available as parts only, with in-house installation services offered at an additional cost.
