This camshaft is described as the 'meanest truck cam out there' and is recommended for use with a 2800-3000 RPM stall converter. It is designed to pull strongly from 3,000 to 6,800 RPM and is compatible with LS6 springs.

The Summit Racing SUM-8714 is a Stage 4 hydraulic roller camshaft specifically engineered for LS Vortec truck engine swaps. This high-performance camshaft is characterized by its aggressive profile, featuring a 226 degrees duration at .050 lift on the intake and 230 degrees on the exhaust, with a 112-degree lobe separation angle. The lift is .545 inches for both intake and exhaust valves when used with a 1.7:1 rocker arm ratio. Marketed as the "meanest truck cam out there," the SUM-8714 is designed to deliver peak performance in the 3,000 to 6,800 RPM range. It is recommended for use with a 2800-3000 RPM stall converter to effectively utilize its powerband. For optimal durability and performance, it is designed to work with LS6 springs. The camshaft's advanced lobe design contributes to strong power and torque throughout its intended operating range.
