Overview

The Performance Regrinding 10-2024 is a professional performance camshaft set for 1984-1989 Nissan 300ZX Z31 models. Each set is created by custom-grinding your factory original Nissan camshaft cores to Stage II specifications.

The grind features .440/.420 intake/exhaust lift and 270/262 duration, designed to pull well between 2450 and 6550 RPM. The kit includes the reground camshafts, extreme pressure cam lubricant, and break-in additive.

The Performance Regrinding 10-2024 offers a specialized performance upgrade for 1984-1989 Nissan 300ZX (Z31) owners by professionally regrinding genuine factory camshaft cores. These cams are ground to order, and customers must send in their serviceable factory camshafts for processing. Technically specified with a 17074 grind, these camshafts provide a .440-inch intake lift and .420-inch exhaust lift, paired with 270-degree intake and 262-degree exhaust duration. This configuration is engineered to deliver a strong power band between 2450 and 6550 RPM. Included with every set are an extreme pressure cam lubricant and a break-in additive to assist with the initial engine startup. Installation requires that all provided camshaft cores are in fully serviceable condition, as those with severe lobe wear, pitting, or cracked bodies cannot be reground. While new rocker arms, springs, and lifters are highly recommended during installation, existing components may be reused if they are professionally inspected and confirmed to be within factory specifications. Hydraulic lifters require particularly careful inspection. Regarding compatibility, this grind is intended for use with 300ZX single overhead camshaft VG30 engine cam cores. While compatible with non-Z VG30 and VG33 engines, users must source a set of 300ZX-Z31 cores to fulfill the requirements of this service. Break-in additive must be used specifically during the engine break-in process to ensure longevity.
