Overview

The Vintage Speed Sport Exhaust System is a stainless steel performance exhaust designed for air-cooled Volkswagen Type-1 engines from 1300cc to 1600cc. It features a classic muffler box look with twin tailpipes that exit in the factory location.

The Vintage Speed Sport Exhaust System provides improved flow and a deeper exhaust note for classic Volkswagen Beetle and Karmann Ghia models equipped with Type-1 engines. Crafted from 100% 304 stainless steel and precision TIG welded, this system is rated for engines producing up to 125hp, including standard 1300-1600cc blocks and larger displacement stroker engines like the 1776cc or 2332cc. The exhaust utilizes adjustable flange joints for compatibility with standard heat exchangers or J-tubes. It comes supplied with header pipes including heat risers specifically for single carburetor applications. For those utilizing twin carburetor setups, the use of AC2512501 pre-heat tube block-offs is required. Additionally, owners opting for larger diameter J-tubes can utilize available Vintage Speed bolt-on flange adapters (35mm or 38mm). Professional installation is recommended for this kit. The assembly includes a built-in fiberglass fire sleeve to provide added protection during operation. Please note that this system is intended for the specified air-cooled VW applications and should not be modified for alternative uses.
