Standalone ECU

The MegaSquirt MSPNP-Pro ECU is a fully standalone, plug-and-play engine management solution designed to enhance your 1996-1998 Ford SN95 Mustang. This specific MSPNP-Pro model is compatible with 1996-1998 Ford Mustang GT models featuring the Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) V8 engine, as well as the 1996-1998 Ford Mustang Cobra models with the Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) V8 engine. A key consideration for this unit is that it is designed exclusively for Manual Transmissions and does not support automatic transmission control. The features of the MSPNP-Pro include a fully plug-and-play installation with no wiring required for basic functionality, and an average installation time of under one hour. It comes with a pre-loaded base map to help ensure your engine starts on the first turn of the key. For advanced tuning, it allows for real-time tuning and data logging via a laptop, and offers 8 GB of internal data logging storage via a built-in SD card. The system also supports aftermarket wideband sensors/controllers and maintains factory tachometer control. Further tuning capabilities include 16x16 fuel and ignition tables for precise control, multiple acceleration enrichment strategies, closed-loop idle speed control, and air conditioner control. It supports 8 sequential fuel injector channels with individual trim tables and 4 wasted spark ignition channels, with 8 sequential ignition outputs for coil-on-plug conversions. Onboard high impedance injector drivers ensure efficient modern injector operation, and the system allows for the removal of the stock airflow meter for greater tuning flexibility. Advanced features include 12x12 air-fuel ratio target tables, multiple traction control strategies (with the addition of a front wheel speed sensor), a built-in 3-step rev limiter/launch control, real-time barometric correction, and an internal 4-bar MAP sensor capable of reading up to 44 PSI of boost. It also includes configurable engine safeties, warning lights, overboost protection, closed-loop boost control (requires EBC solenoid kit), nitrous control strategies for wet or dry systems, rally-style anti-lag, water injection control, knock sensor input, table switching input for on-the-fly map changes, and flex fuel sensor input for seamless E85/gasoline switching. The MSPNP-Pro is also compatible with many aftermarket dashes and displays, including the DD-EFI Digital Dash, and features a CANBus connector for interconnection with other MegaSquirt-compatible devices.
