The Howards Cams 110013-10S is a high-performance steel billet mechanical roller camshaft engineered for Small Block Chevy engines, specifically covering the 1955-1998 model years with displacements from 262 to 400 cubic inches. This camshaft is crafted from high-grade steel billet cores, Rockwell checked and Parkerized for quality control. It's designed for a Small Base Circle application, making it ideal for 410 sprint cars or big inch bracket racing, providing power in the upper mid-range and top end of the RPM spectrum. With a generous valve lift of .630" intake and .620" exhaust, and duration at .050" of 263° intake and 269° exhaust, this camshaft operates effectively between 4000 and 8000 RPM. The lobe separation is set at 110 degrees with an intake centerline of 106 degrees, and the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Important installation notes and compatibility considerations include the fact that Stock (O.E.) valve springs cannot be used with this camshaft. It also requires the use of a thrust button and an upgraded distributor gear and fuel pump pushrod for proper operation and durability.
