The Standard Ignition SWS46 Steering Angle Sensor is a critical component of a vehicle's safety system, transmitting steering wheel turn rate, wheel angle, and other essential data to the vehicle's computer. A fault in this signal can disable the vehicle's stability control, indicated by excessive play in the steering wheel or an illuminated steering warning light.
