Overview

The Autofab steering box mounting bracket is a replacement part designed for 1972-1993 Dodge 4x4 trucks and Ramchargers with leaf spring front suspension. It is constructed from 3/8" thick laser-cut steel plate, making it stronger than the factory 1/4" bracket which can crack under steering loads, especially on diesel trucks. The bracket includes 4 high-grade alloy Allen head bolts for attaching to the steering box, while factory hardware is used for frame attachment.

The Autofab steering box mounting bracket is engineered to replace the weaker factory 1/4" bracket found on 1972-1993 Dodge 4x4 trucks and Ramchargers. This upgrade is particularly beneficial for diesel models that experience increased stress due to front-end weight. Constructed from robust 3/8" thick laser-cut steel plate, the Autofab bracket offers significantly enhanced durability and strength. The bracket features 9/16" mounting holes for the majority of trucks, designed to capture the steering box's 15-degree mounting angle. For earlier models with 1/2" frame holes, minor modification by drilling out the frame holes to 9/16" and using the provided 9/16" bolts for frame attachment is required. The product comes with 4 high-grade alloy Allen head bolts to secure the steering box to the new bracket; factory hardware should be utilized for frame mounting. One satisfied customer reported tight steering and zero issues after installing the bracket on their 1993 W250 Cummins, highly recommending it for 1st Gen Dodge pickups and Ramchargers.
