Overview

The Terrafirma TF832 steering damper is a heavy-duty shock absorber designed for Land Rover Defender 90, 110, and 130 models. It replaces the original factory unit to control steering vibrations and feedback, particularly on vehicles running larger diameter tires.

This steering damper features a 54mm big bore twin-tube design with a 35mm internal bore and piston. Its 16mm double-chromed shaft and 50/50 multi-stage damping provide smooth, consistent steering action from lock to lock without restricting steering return.

The Terrafirma TF832 steering damper serves as a robust upgrade for Land Rover Defender 90, 110, and 130 models equipped with a pin/eye damper arrangement. Technically engineered for durability, the unit utilizes a 54mm big bore twin-tube design that offers nearly twice the fluid capacity of original factory dampers, ensuring cooler internal temperatures. It incorporates advanced cellular foam technology and multi-stage 50/50 damping to provide balanced, smooth control in both directions. The construction includes a 35mm internal bore, a 36mm piston, and a 16mm double-chromed shaft, finished in a signature silver metallic coating with a blue dust shield to protect against debris. By smoothing out steering inputs, the TF832 improves overall driver comfort and helps minimize fatigue during extended drives. It is intended for direct replacement of the standard steering damper on compatible Land Rover live axle systems.
