The Red-Head Steering Gears 2764BS is a remanufactured steering gearbox, not a standard rebuild, built in Washington state for superior steering control and longevity. It features a factory 18:1 ratio, ensuring no changes to steering wheel revolutions or wheel travel. The housing is machined and fitted with needle bearings, while shafts are flame sprayed or replaced as needed. New control valves are installed on some applications, and the worm and piston assembly is custom-fit with precise oversized ball bearings. Sector shafts are confirmed straight and true on a lathe, and the sealing surface is polished to prevent leaks. This gearbox allows you to retain the factory steering shaft and stock pitman arm, a significant advantage for lifted trucks. A 12-month warranty is included. IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE: Some 1999 and 2000 model year Ford applications may have a 32-spline sector shaft on early models, while later models feature a 36-spline sector shaft. This 2764BS model is for the 36-spline applications. If your vehicle has a 32-spline shaft, this box will not fit. Please confirm your spline count before ordering. The product is compatible with Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 pickup trucks, as well as E-150, E-250, E-350, E-450, and E-550 vans and Excursions from model years 1999-2004 for trucks and 2000-2005 for vans and Excursions.
