The Maximum Motorsports steering shaft assembly is a specialized hybrid steering shaft designed to bridge the gap when retrofitting a 1994-2004 SN95 power steering rack into a 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustang. By replacing the stock rubber rag joint with a solid shaft design, this assembly eliminates steering slop and significantly improves overall steering precision and driver feedback. This component is specifically intended for use during an SN95 steering rack conversion on 1979-1993 Mustang chassis. It acts as the necessary link between the early-style steering column and the later-model rack, ensuring compatibility between the two different hardware generations. Installation requires retaining the original factory hardware used to secure the steering rack to the K-member. Please note that this product is only intended for use on 1979-1993 Mustangs that have been converted to the 1994-2004 power steering rack system; it is not compatible with the original factory rack configuration.
