The POR-15 Stop Rust Kit is a three-step system designed to permanently stop rust and protect metal surfaces. It creates a tough, non-porous coating that seals against water, chemicals, salt, and other corrosives. The kit includes Cleaner Degreaser, Metal Prep, and Rust Preventive Coating.

This system effectively cleans and prepares metal for coating, neutralizing rust and etching the surface for improved adhesion. The final coating is resistant to heat up to 450°F and has exceeded a 2,000-hour salt spray test. It is also resistant to acids, alkalis, fuels, and oils.

The POR-15 Stop Rust Kit offers a comprehensive 3-step solution for permanently eliminating rust and providing robust metal protection. Each kit includes POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser for thorough contaminant removal, POR-15 Metal Prep to neutralize remaining rust and etch the metal surface, and POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating to form a protective, hammer-tough finish. Begin by cleaning the surface with POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser, followed by the application of POR-15 Metal Prep to prepare the substrate. The final step involves applying the POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating, with recommendations for two to three thin coats. A single 4 oz can covers approximately six square feet with two coats. This kit is ideal for restoring and protecting smaller automotive parts and projects such as subframes, axle replacements, control arms, and brake shields. Preventing rust is crucial for maintaining vehicle aesthetics and preventing further structural damage caused by corrosion. The POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating has been tested to withstand temperatures up to 450°F and has exceeded a 2,000-hour salt spray test, demonstrating its resilience. It also offers resistance to common acids, alkalis, fuels, and oils. For applications exposed to UV light, a topcoat such as POR-15 Top Coat or POR-15 2K Urethane is recommended for long-term durability and color retention. The coating exhibits excellent adhesion, even when applied up to 14 days after the initial coat.
