The Steeda Stop the Hop Starter Kit is engineered to combat unwanted wheel hop in S550/S650 Ford Mustangs, offering a budget-friendly solution for enthusiasts seeking enhanced traction and suspension performance. This kit addresses critical weaknesses in the factory Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) subframe mounting system, which relies on four soft rubber bushings that allow for significant movement under acceleration and braking. The kit includes three key components: the Alignment Dowel Kit, the IRS Subframe Bushing Support System, and the IRS Subframe Support Brace. The Alignment Dowel Kit utilizes CNC-machined Delrin inserts to fill voids in the factory bolt holes, precisely squaring the rear subframe to the chassis and limiting fore-aft and side-to-side movement. The patented IRS Subframe Bushing Support System, constructed from billet 6061 aluminum with stainless steel hardware, fills all factory voids in the subframe mounting locations to prevent vertical movement. Completing the system is the strongest available support brace for the S550/S650 IRS, made from chrome moly steel. This 5-point brace ties the factory subframe directly into the chassis at key mounting points, including the front factory mount and lower control arm mount, via a simple bolt-in design. The Steeda Stop the Hop Starter Kit is made in-house and provides a fundamental foundation for ultimate traction and suspension compliance. However, a crucial note regarding fitment is that the Steeda IRS Subframe support braces included in this kit will not fit convertible models.
