Although cryogenic treatment is invisible to the naked eye, many fleet customers are sold on its ability to extend the service life of the brake rotor. Deep cryogenic treatment is a one-time process that permanently improves the performance and wear characteristics of metal components, from brake rotors and engine parts to machine tools and gear sets. All new StopTech Sport Rotors may be ordered with cryogenic treatment for an additional fee.

MIA's Description

Stoptech Drilled and Slotted Sport Rotors are premium quality replacement brake rotors that feature a signature "short slot" design. The slot improves brake system performance by wiping away the debris of used friction friction material that otherwise accumulates between the rotor and pad, keeping fresh pad material exposed to the rotor surface and helping prevent pad glazing. The edges sweeping the pad slightly increase the effective coefficient of friction and amplify brake system response to pedal input. The Cryo-treated rotors undergo a deep cryogenic treatment process that permanently improves the performance and service life of the metal by redistributing residual stress, providing extra protection against warping. PowerSlot rotors are finished in a durable black e-coat on the hat, edges, and internal vanes to prevent corrosion. The braking surfaces are left in a bare iron finish to improve brake pad bed-in.
