StopTech Slotted & Drilled Sport Brake Rotor

Premium high carbon rotor with performance and style. Drilled and slotted rotors are great for street use when you want to show off your brakes or add some style behind a flashy wheel. The slots provide an escape for brake pad gasses and scrape the pad to heat up faster. The slots also serve as a visual wear indicator. Slots are machined to the rotor's minimum thickness where it crosses the outside edge. If you cannot see the slots along the outside edge, the rotor has worn down to its discard depth. The cross-drilled holes provide an escape for water and brake dust so they don't build up under the pad. The High Carbon rotor forms the basis for every Stoptech sport rotor. The High Carbon approach results in a brake disc with greater capacity for heat absorption. This results in less deformation of the braking surface, aka "warping", better resistance to surface cracks, and greater performance overall. A black electrostatic coating is used to prevent rust on the brake hat and vanes. The entire rotor is coated, followed by CNC double-disc grinding of the friction surface, and final computer balancing.
