The TCI Street Fighter Ratchet Shifter serves as an upgrade for the 2005-2009 Ford Mustang GT and V6 with 5R55S automatic transmissions, allowing for manual "speed shifting" without the risk of accidentally hitting neutral. The ratchet mechanism provides positive-stop action, offering a significant improvement over factory shifters by ensuring each gear is engaged accurately during hard driving. Technically, the shifter is built with an integrated, illuminated gear indicator and includes a built-in neutral safety switch. It is NHRA and IHRA compliant, making it suitable for track environments. The design maintains compatibility with the factory shift cable, streamlining the connection to the transmission. Installation requires careful mounting of the provided hardware; manual instructions specify a criss-cross tightening pattern for the bolts to 80 inch-pounds. Please note that this specific model (619570) has been discontinued and is not compatible with 2010-2012 Mustang models, which require the separate 619575 version.
