The IE Street/Race Intake Camshaft (IECVA2-2) is engineered for VW/Audi 1.8T 20V engines, specifically the 06A & 058 variants, to unlock performance potential in builds targeting 400-600 horsepower. For optimal performance and a smoother idle compared to stock, it is designed to be installed alongside a compatible IE exhaust camshaft, such as the IECVA2-1 Street/Race Exhaust Camshaft or the IECVA1-1 Race Exhaust Camshaft. Technical specifications include a 258-degree advertised duration, 208-degree duration at 0.050 inches lift, 0.353 inches of lift, and a 108-degree cam lobe centerline (CLA). The design prioritizes easy installation, featuring a pre-set cam sprocket with factory-style timing marks that simplify the process to match stock camshaft installation. Due to the increased powerband and higher RPM limits associated with larger turbos and performance camshafts, upgrading valve springs and retainers is highly recommended to ensure optimal valvetrain harmonics, safe revving, and longevity. Integrated Engineering offers a specific 1.8T 20V Valve Spring & Retainer Kit for this purpose. Factory camshafts are tuned for stock turbochargers and low RPM power. This IE Street/Race Intake Camshaft matches valve lift to the turbo's efficient range, sequencing the valvetrain to unlock significant power gains when correctly implemented.
