The B&M Street/Strip 4L80E automatic transmission is a complete, ready-to-run unit (torque converter not included) engineered for high-performance street applications and mild dragstrip use. It delivers firm shifts and maintains a standard shift pattern, making it a top choice for demanding driving conditions. This transmission is constructed with a durable cast aluminum case and features a variety of performance-enhancing internal components. These include a 34-element intermediate sprag, a high-energy intermediate band, a new overdrive sprag assembly, and a new low roller assembly. It also utilizes performance friction materials, all new solenoids and wiring harness, a recalibrated valve body, and a rebuilt performance pump assembly. The B&M 118002BM is designed to support up to 800 horsepower and 650 ft-lbs of torque. It is compatible with GM models from 1997 to 2015 and is specifically for 2WD (Rear-Wheel Drive) applications. For transplant applications, it can be used with an HGM Compushift controller. It uses a slip-yoke style output and includes a front speed sensor.
