Overview

OEM bolt holes are larger than necessary for production ease, leading to looseness and chassis flex over time. This kit includes aluminum washers with a tapered outer edge that fit between the chassis panels and subframe. When tightened with a properly sized bolt, the collars crush into place, filling the gap and permanently stopping panel movement. This restores a 'new car feeling' by reducing vibration, cabin noise, and the need for constant steering corrections.

During manufacturing, Honda utilizes oversized bolt holes in chassis panels and subframes to streamline production. Over time, this allows for slight movement between these components, leading to a decrease in chassis rigidity, increased vibrations, and a less precise driving feel. The Spoon Sports Rigid Collars are precision-engineered aluminum washers featuring a unique tapered outer edge. These collars are inserted into the subframe mounting holes. As the original bolts are re-tightened, the tapered portion of the collar deforms, filling the gap between the bolt and the inner wall of the hole. This process effectively joins the two panels, eliminating play and restoring the chassis's original tight feel. The installation involves loosening and re-tightening the subframe bolts one by one, making it a straightforward process. By preventing unwanted movement, this kit significantly reduces annoying engine start-up vibrations and general shaking, leading to a quieter cabin environment. It also improves straight-running stability, enhances compliant roll characteristics, and minimizes the need for constant steering corrections, resulting in a smoother, more composed driving experience. This reduction in corrective steering and overall smoother feel can also decrease driver fatigue during long journeys.
