The SunCoast Performance 10R140 Transmission, Category 2 Expanded Capacity, is an upgraded automatic transmission designed to enhance both fuel efficiency and performance in high-horsepower Ford vehicles. This unit features Raybestos Powertrain GPZ friction plates for superior durability and performance, a new thermal flow control filter, and expanded capacity "E" and "F" clutch modules to address common failure points in the factory 10R140 transmission. It also incorporates Sonnax upgrades to the valve body, including a main pressure regulator valve kit and solenoid stabilization clip insert, to improve line pressure control and prevent solenoid issues. The transmission offers a wide 7.39 gear ratio spread, a low 4.70 first gear, and three overdrive gears, with small steps between gears to maintain optimal engine RPM.
