The SunCoast SC-GM-EP Elite Performance Billet Triple Disc Torque Converter is an extreme-duty upgrade for 2001-2016 GM 6.6L Duramax diesel vehicles with an Allison 1000 transmission. It features a fully machined, forged apply piston for consistent performance under high pressure and upgraded friction material for enhanced thermal capacity, ideal for heavy towing and demanding applications. SunCoast manufactures these converters in-house, offering customizable stall speeds to optimize performance for daily driving, racing, or sled pulling. The race series is recommended for higher horsepower applications with larger turbos, requiring higher RPM to build boost during prolonged brake stalling (over 5 seconds). These heavy-duty converters include a billet stator for increased resistance to damage from excessive brake stalling.
