This valve body is a performance upgrade for the 47RE automatic transmission, specifically designed for enthusiasts. It addresses shortcomings of the factory Torqueflite valve body, especially when paired with aftermarket power modifications on Cummins engines. Advanced Lockup Capability: Allows torque converter clutch lockup in all forward gears when used in conjunction with a controller. This is beneficial for optimum exhaust brake operation and provides lock-up during downshifts without cycling the solenoid, resulting in much crisper and more precise lockup. Upgraded Internal Components: Manual Valve: Upgraded for full cooler flow while the vehicle is in park. Detent Plug & Spring: Custom design restores manual valve to correct alignment and corrects potential side loading. Throttle Valve (TV Valve): Replaced with a longer, custom-designed piece to eliminate sticking issues common in factory units. Triple Wrap Accumulator Spring: Recalibrated to improve line rise pressure and maintain resilience. Custom PR Spring: Provides the identical pressure rise curve as the 48RE transmission for cleaner, crisper shifts and extended transmission life.
