The Sun Coast SC-48RECAT1-0304-2WD Category 1 Transmission With Converter is a 450HP rated transmission designed as an upgrade for towing, hauling, or slightly modified vehicles. It features numerous internal upgrades to improve performance and hydraulic integrity. Key improvements include a four-ring billet accumulator piston, a larger four-ring billet servo for increased apply pressure and improved release, a pro-series carbon-graphitic band, and billet band anchor, strut, and apply lever. The valve body and pump are recalibrated with a laser-cut, SunCoast-proprietary separator plate for optimal line pressure and increased volume. It also includes new overdrive and lockup solenoids, a new governor pressure sensor, and an upgraded DNJ billet solenoid housing and governor solenoid. The included billet triple disc torque converter features carbon-graphitic clutch material and a precision-CNC-machined, forged billet apply piston for long-lasting performance.
