This new Suncoast 48RE transmission is rated at 700hp. It is an ideal upgrade for those who tow and haul or have a heavily modified vehicle. Key components are upgraded to improve performance and restore hydraulic integrity: Factory plastic accumulator piston is replaced with an improved billet four-ring sealing piston. Larger billet servo with increased apply pressure and improved release, including a four-ring servo with square-cut Teflon primary sealing ring and O-ring secondary. Further upgrades include a billet band anchor, billet band strut, billet apply lever, and a pro-series, carbon-graphitic band. Valve body and pump are recalibrated, and the separator plate is replaced with a new laser-cut, SunCoast-proprietary plate for optimal line pressure and increased volume. Each valve body and pump is custom-built. Billet one-piece input shaft made from 300 maraging steel, heat-treated and stress-relieved for higher torque and stress loads, precision-ground. New overdrive and lockup solenoids, and the governor pressure sensor (transducer) are replaced. All new 48RE transmissions are upgraded with the DNJ billet solenoid housing and an upgraded governor solenoid. Billet triple disc torque converter lined with carbon-graphitic clutch material, featuring a precision-CNC-machined, forged billet apply piston and a billet cover. Includes a billet SFI certified flex plate.
