It is designed as a replacement and upgrade for the E40D transmission found in 1999-2003 Ford F250 and F350 trucks equipped with the 7.3L Power Stroke diesel engine and 4WD. The transmission features an electronically controlled overdrive unit with a first gear ratio of 2.71:1, a second gear ratio of 1.54:1, and an overdrive ratio of 0.71, optimized for towing, hauling, and improved fuel economy.
