This SunCoast Category 3 transmission with converter is designed for 650HP+ applications and is a complete transmission assembly for the Ford 6R140 platform. The Ford 6R140 transmission, replacing the 5R110, features a robust one-piece bell housing, a deep first gear (3.974:1), double overdrive, and sinter-brazed gear carriers. The original 6R140 torque converter includes a long travel, ultra-high capacity turbine damper.

SunCoast has improved the design by addressing chronic captive clutch failure with a custom rigid backing plate that minimizes deflection and improves apply conformity. They also developed a new 4-5-6 clutch hub with a damper assembly featuring Sound Reduction/Absorption Technology to eliminate "squawk" during shifts and enhance shift quality. This patented "E Clutch Hub Damper" is proven reliable up to 1,000hp. SunCoast also includes a proprietary 4-5-6 "E" clutch power pack with nine custom frictions for superior performance.
