The SunCoast 68RFE-86-3D is a triple disc torque converter designed for 2007–current RAM trucks equipped with the 68RFE transmission. Engineered and built in-house, it offers significantly more strength, quicker response, and improved power transfer compared to the stock unit. This converter is ideal for heavy towing, larger turbo applications, or any situation requiring high-load durability and efficiency.

It features a triple disc lockup system with 3.4 times more apply area than the OEM converter, providing 29.7 sq. in. of clutch surface for stronger, smoother lockup and increased torque handling. The optimized 2200 stall speed enhances off-the-line response and aids turbo spooling while maintaining good towing performance. Construction includes a CNC-machined billet stator, 4140 hardened turbine splines, billet steel and aluminum pistons, and a fully forged billet cover with proprietary trapezoid lockup teeth. Superior heat and load management are ensured through TIG-reinforced fins, a metal Torrington bearing, pressure-tested welds, and digital balancing.
