This SunCoast Allison billet SFI certified flexplate replaces the weak factory flex plate with an improved one-piece billet steel design, essential for high torque applications. The input shaft is made from 9310 Vacumelt steel, increasing torsional fatigue strength by over 50%, crucial for lifted vehicles, heavy towing, and aftermarket turbos. All SunCoast Allison 1000 torque converters feature custom pump/turbine modifications, Tig Welded furnace brazed fins, and proprietary trapezoidal clutch teeth. The factory C2 clutch hub, prone to failure, is replaced with a stronger 4140 heat-treated stress-relieved billet piece with lengthened and increased diameter splines. The P2 planet, also susceptible to failure in high-horsepower applications, is replaced with an induction-hardened 4140 billet steel unit, including a machine SunGear. Every transmission includes a new internal wiring harness. Exclusive features include proprietary C1, C2, C3, and C4 Alto carbonite/Rabestos SCZ frictions with a waffle pattern for cooling, redesigned apply pistons, a thicker spring apply plate, and a custom apply plate for improved lubrication.
